How this record is made, and what it can and cannot show.

The Granny Flat Files documents Kay Power’s granny flat purchase and the dispute that followed. It is compiled by Alex, Kay’s daughter and authorised representative, with Kay’s written authority. It presents the family’s account alongside the documents and the companies’ own words. It is not legal advice, and nothing here is a finding by a court or a regulator. The site does not assert that Expandify is insolvent.

Sources and accuracy

Material claims link to contracts, invoices, emails, register searches, signed accounts or Alex’s summaries of conversations. Written quotations and personal accounts are identified separately.

A document establishes what was put in writing; a conversation summary presents the author’s account. Neither independently establishes that every statement described is true.

Conversation summaries

Alex’s summaries describe five project conversations in which she participated. They distinguish the issues discussed from related written evidence and later comparisons. Kay’s separate 11 August conversation is described in her signed account.

Privacy and withheld material

Documents are shown as redacted copies. Personal email addresses, private addresses, telephone numbers, account and reference numbers, and the names of people who are not parties are removed. Business contact details of the companies may remain. Kay and Alex are named; company representatives are named where they acted for a company in the record or are its registered officers.

Some originals are held privately and are unavailable on this website. Incoming legal communications are presented as attributed editorial summaries. These summaries do not determine either party’s legal rights.

Responses and corrections

If something here is wrong, write to contact@thegrannyflatfiles.com.au. It will be checked against the source and corrected, and the correction dated on the FAQ page under Latest update. A development in the dispute is an update; a correction is recorded only where the earlier account was wrong.
